Can my CFP balance go below zero?
Yes. In the normal course of a season a team’s CFP balance may go below zero. Teams will be held responsible for negative CFP balances once each season, during the offseason, when the negative balance must be restored to zero or the team’s salary cap will be reduced by a corresponding amount. Teams with a negative CFP balance at any time may not trade away or redeem CFP’s.

So CFP’s can be traded?
Yes, CFP’s can be traded just like players and draft picks, providing the team is not in a negative CFP position. CFP’s can be conditional or subject to delayed transfer as dictated by the terms of the trade.

When will CFP balances be updated?
Teams are encouraged to track their own spending, but the league will provide updates at key points such as the beginning of the offseason and after the CFP spending period.
