With the church murders and the news people killed its getting worse and weirder everyday.

Stuff like that is absolutely heartbreaking...and unfortunately I saw the video before I knew what was going on (thanks Twitter autoplay). That's one of those things I never want to see again but I feel like it'll be in my mind forever.

I feel like I've had to do the 'be sure to hug the ones you love a little bit closer tonight' thing a lot more often lately.  :-\
"But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity." - Martin Luther King, Jr

We have all heard the the cliche you could get hit by a bus any day etc...
and while the intent was always to clue you in to how temporary life is, it never really presented itself as a likely option, at least to me.
It's to the point now where everyday I have to be at peace that this could be the day.
